Abebe and Afternake – OSFA running stars

Posted on September 27, 2009

This week the One Size Fits All (OSFA) crew went to the mountains just outside of Addis Ababa to film teenage running stars Abebe and Afternake.

These young athletes come from a small village near the Ethiopian capital and train like maniacs. They get up early every morning to either run in the mountains or work on their stamina on the stairs of Meskel Square. All this to achieve their one big goal: becoming the new Kenenisa Bekele or Haile Gebrselassie.

Abebe and Afternake are still looking for a sponsor. So, if you see their talent and know exactly what these athletes need to get to the next level (shoes, money or an invitation to a prestigious youth championship), please contact us.

Of course there’s more! For juicy details on our encounter with the Ethiopian Federal Police, the story of a giant world record size shoe and what we think about lazy, rich Ethiopian youngsters with an attitude… you’ll have to listen to ATLAS tonight, 8.30 p.m. (local time) on Dutch Radio 1.
